Outing Details
9:00 – 11:00am | Flatwater Paddles (boats available or bring your own)
- Boreal Life Paddle on Barnum Pond starts with a guided, short walk through a spruce swamp, bog, conifer forest, and mixed conifer-hardwood forest to the VIC dock where you can explore Barnum Pond (no portage required and space limited)
- Lower St. Regis Lake Paddle begins at the Paul Smith’s College boat launch where you can (1) take an easy venture to a wetland and/or lean-to; (2) take a moderate paddle to Rabbit Island on Spitfire Lake; or (3) take a challenging upstream paddle to Keese Mill Dam
9:00 – 11:00am | Walk in the Woods at the Paul Smith’s VIC
- Heron Marsh Trail travels through a variety of habitats, including wetlands, hardwood forest and mixed conifer-hardwood forest - there is a boardwalk, two platforms and an elevated tower for viewing marsh wildlife
- Self-Guided Walk around the many nature trails combined with visit to the Butterfly House
